Originally from San Antonio, Texas, we’ve been living in Chicagoland for the past 5 years. We love Chicago, but were amazed to discover that breakfast tacos didn't really exist in the Midwest. We’ve gone everywhere from the south-side of Chicago, Pilsen and Little Village, to various suburbs, all with the same result – no breakfast tacos. So we finally decided to do something about it!
Amanecer means “sunrise” and can also describe when a group wakes up early to do something. We thought it was fitting for our breakfast tacos. When you wake up early to start your day, we’ll be there to serve you a fresh breakfast taco.
In Texas, breakfast tacos are a way of life. You gotta be somewhere early? You pick up breakfast tacos. Did you set up a 9:00 a.m. meeting for your team? You better bring in breakfast tacos for everyone. Looking for something to eat as you’ve been out all night? You eat breakfast tacos. Got a major test? Better feed your brain a hearty breakfast taco. You can even get them 24/7!
Breakfast tacos are typically made with fresh-cooked flour tortillas, and stuffed with a variety of breakfast fillings such as eggs, meats, beans, and cheeses, and finally topped with fresh salsa. We believe in keeping things simple and delicious–using fresh and organic ingredients, cooking our own beans (not canned), and preparing the tacos each morning for your enjoyment. Yes that's a lot of work, but that's Texas style.
